My creative practice and academic textile research run parallel to each other, the different processes and skills of each informing all my work. Importantly, I have found drawing a vital tool in the study of dress and textile objects as it develops a 'slow approach to looking' to observe details and engage with the material quality of objects. Drawing objects also creates a visual translation of my research creating unique interpretation to engage audiences. As a recent graduate of MLitt Art History: Dress and Textile Histories I hope to further engage with art as a tool to translate research creating accessible resources for learners whilst expanding research of material objects.
